The wind huffed and puffed and blew our roof off....

If you've ever been to Colorado you would know that it can get windy from time to time. Especially along the foothills. Well one night (about 2 months ago) we had 90-100 mph winds. Of coarse the wind was only at night this particular time. As none of us got any sleep and we heard the wind bang against our house and lift up many of our shingles all night long. That next morning, we and our neighbors found many shingles on the ground. Some even blew across the windshield of our car and scraped it.
Fences were blown down all over the place. Home Depot sure made money that month in fencing supplies! Our neighborhood was hit the worst in the whole town. One of my co-workers said as she was driving to work there was a trampoline just on the side of the street that had blown out of someones yard. Thank goodness it didn't hurt anyone.
We had many different companies just driving by to look at all the damages on all our roofs. After we had heard all the same results that they could fix only what was missing and not fix anything that was loose we began to give up hope of being able to get it fixed. If they only fix what's missing, what's going to fly off in the next storm?
One last company came by and we let them take a look. They said they could get us a whole new roof and our insurance company would cover it. Really?? No way! This was too good to be true... but he was not pulling our arm.
We got a whole new roof and insurance covered it!!! Yay! Thank goodness we let one last company look!

Most of the damage was on the left side of the house....

They were able to do it all in one day!

We love our new roof and hopefully during the next wind storm we will be able to sleep better because we won't hear all the loose shingles flapping in the wind and blowing off!
