Gone Fishin

AJ decided we were going to take the kids fishing a few weekends ago. The weather was warm, and beautiful. We went to this new lake/reservoir close to our house. The view of the mountains were just gorgeous!! I love views like this and makes you remember how beautiful Colorado is.

AJ first taught the kids how to put the poles together and how to put the hooks on. Then they fished. I was really surprised how long they stayed interested in it. So we fished for a good 2 hours. So while they were doing this....

I was doing this.....

Milo even got in on the fun. He went swimming after his ball. Maybe he scared all the fish away because we didn't catch anything. No nibbles, no bites.. Maybe next time....

When we got home we gave Milo a bath. Later that night Milo was acting funny and again the next day. We all of a sudden noticed that Milo wasn't wagging his tail. I took him to the vet, this was the 3rd case like this in a week that the vet had seen. So what she said was that either, he hit it hard on something, or he jammed it somehow, or it was the shock of the cold water. It was swollen. So he's been on medicine ever since. He had his normal tail wagging back in 4 days... Milo's finally back to his normal happy go lucky tail wagging dog. :)

So beware when letting your dog swim in cold water or give them a cold bath with the hose. It can shock their systems... we know better now for next time...
